Maple Bay Elementary is situated at the foot of Mount Tzouhalem near the entrance to The Properites development. This spacious new facility became our home in May 2000 after moving from the school's original location in the Maple Bay village. In 2009 a newly completed sports field adjacent to school property became available for our use.

The school enrolls approximately 200 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and is an integral part of the community. The students, staff, and parents all work together to ensure a positive learning experience.

Welcome to Maple Bay Elementary

We are proud of our school and our student's accomplishments. Students are provided with a number of challenging and exciting opportunities in not only the academic areas but also in fine arts and extra-curricular sports. In addition, students are provided opportunities in leadership roles. Students at all levels are encouraged and expected to become involved in school activities and share their learning experiences.

The school community of students, staff and parents support and endorse a safe and caring environment which fosters respect and acceptance of all.

Our Students

Maple Bay Elementary students come from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds. The majority of the students live in the area but some are bused into school daily.

Each student is encouraged and supported to make their learning experience fun and fulfilling.

Staff, parents, and the students themselves work with each other to ensure that each student learns the required academic cirriculum and develops life social skills preparing them for the future.

Working Together

It takes a whole community to raise a child. Working together, we will make a difference.

Maple Bay staff, parents, and students form a symbiotic team striving to make learning at Maple Bay Elementary a meaningful and fun experience. Some of the programs run or supported by staff, parent volunteers, or students include:

  • Big Buddies - older students are teamed with younger students for several school time activities
  • Hot Lunch - run by parent volunteers so that children have a bi-monthly hot lunch experience
  • Noon hour activities such as mini-hockey, soccer, and basket ball
  • Healthy Buddies - where big and little buddies participate in a variety of physical activity programs
  • Parent Reading - helping every child to realize their full reading potential
